    Vista/Neon/Win7 and Win10 experiment.

My main system, as some may already know, has a Win7/Win10 dual boot on seperate drives which work well together after resolving some minor hiccups....

I have an old test rig (Asus P5Q Deluxe, 4gb RAM....) that I have used to install Vista x64 ( absolute nightmare, but, I eventually managed to get it to SP2 ) and KDE Neon x64 partitioned on one ssd. I would like to see Vista and Neon on my main computer so I have older Windows versions and Linux to play with.

I really don't want to go through the Vista install again and I don't want GRUB to mess up my boot up. Is it possible to put the test rig SSD in my main computer and set up Win10 boot loader to see Vista and Neon.

This is just tinkering and playing, but it woud be good to see how these work on the main computer......

Just checking in with you guys to see if there are any problems I should be aware of before I start?

    All the best

It might be with the help of one of the programs below:

    Download Grub2Win - MajorGeeks

    Download EasyBCD - MajorGeeks

When I used to use Linux & Win 10 I would just use the Grub menu.

    Thank you Josey.

    I shall look into those.

My current Win7/10 system uses Win10 bootloader.....which works well.

I am wondering what would happen if I put the Vista/Neon SSD in without any installing.

EDIT: Vista has a retail licence.

I tried one of those 4 slot SSD input trays and it worked very good. When I wanted Windows 10 I used the SSD with Win 10, When I wanted Linux , I used the Linux SSD. They both showed up as the same boot disk so all was well. Doing this was not dual booting..Then I started to game again and went back to just Windows 10.

As far as Vista/Neon it would probably boot
