Installing Windows 10 on new SSD

Hello. I have a desktop PC with a 1GB HDD. It has Windows 10 (1809) on C: partition and Games, Documents, photos and other data on D: The boot mode is Legacy BIOS. I am going to install a 240 GB SSD as the primary drive and install the current version of Windows 10 on it. I am then going to re-format the 1GB HDD to one partition and put back my games, etc on it. I want to ensure both the SSD and HDD are in UEFI mode.

    1. What specific steps do I need to take to ensure both drives are in UEFI mode?

    2. Is there an easy to follow guide available to enable me to do the above without too much hassle?

I have created an installation USB with the current version of Windows 10 from MS, but do I need to get into the firmware settings via an F key? What settings do I need to change once in there?

Have you thought about reading your motherboard manual?
    Page 78. Disable CSM.

"If you are using Windows 8.1/8 64-bit and all of your
devices support UEFI, you may also disable CSM for faster boot speed."

    Applies to Windows 10 too.

Important: Detach ALL other drives from the MB (SATA or power connector) leaving on only the SSD.
On BIOS, disable CSM, secure boot and Fast boot.
Boot the Win 10 as UEFI (not legacy). Go to install - advanced and if the SSD isn't all unallocated, delete ALL partitions and proceed. It will create at least 3 partitions
    - EFI - 100M - Fat32
    - MS reserved - 120M - RAW
    - Big NTFS

Choose to install on the big NTFS

If you delete all partitions on the SSD during install, no choosing is needed or required.

Once you have a raw, unallocated SSD, just click Next and the installer will create the necessary partitions and start the install.

hanks to all who have provided advice so far. Much appreciated. I am a novice to this process, so do not want to stuff it up. To date I have installed the SSD in a drive bay, but have not connected it to the motherboard. Once I have the step, by step details of what I need to do to install the current version of Windows 10, I will proceed further. Some of the steps I need to know about are:

    1. Is the new SSD already formatted? If not, would this be done during the installation of W10 or do I need to format it beforehand?

    2. If beforehand, what file system should I choose?

    3. Do I disconnect the existing HDD from the motherboard before connecting the new SSD? If so, do I connect the SSD to the slot previously occupied by the HDD?

    4. Do I plug in the USB with W10 on it before I restart my computer? If so, do I need to press any F key during startup to access the BIOS?

    5. When I access the BIOS, what specifically do I do to ensure UEFI is used during installation?

    6. What do I need to do once W10 is installed on the SSD and working with regard to the HDD? It currently has two partitions and I want to reformat it to once partition using UEFI so that I can store my data files on it.
