AddRAM That seem to be a picture of disk partitions options (possibly for installation) once you have already booted the device you are installing from. My question was about how the original boot device selection seemed to influence the type of partition style that Windows eventually will be installed on.
as far as I can tell, but I have never seen this, as long as bios settings are correct a DVD or USB stick with the install media on it will show up as 2 different devices, one for each type of partition, and that choice determines the outcome.
Someone please correct me if this is wrong.
I am going to help a friend this weekend do a fresh install on a system with UEFI. I have not done an install on that type of system. Like you I have always made a large formatted partition with diskpart from the install media before proceeding so as to only have that one partition and no hidden ones (MBR of course).
But as GPT is being touted as the thing of the future the owner wants to install that way.
