    I downloaded the Win 10 upgrade assistant and let it do its job. Before I have always got into settings and deleted the american keyboard but cannot find it now in latest thing.

    It must have been an upgrade glitch. If I go to settings >time and language>language. Under preferred languages it just had Eng(UK) but the language bar was showing EnUK and EnUS. So I installed the English US as add a preferred language. Then it displayed in preferred languages, Eng UK and Eng US. Then I just deleted the Eng US that I had just installed and wow, the language bar dissappeared from the right hand lower systems tray!

    For one drive: Uninstall OneDrive in Windows 10

    @farrellart & elbmek:
    I feel your pain; There are three tutorials that may help:

    I also saw this in lifehacker: Disable Windows 10 App Updates With This Setting (But Only in Pro)
    I checked and even though I have w10home I have that in my microsoft store settings. It might be because I'm up to build 1903 and MS has relaxed the rules since this article was published in 2015.
    • Click on Start. Scroll down to the MSStore, open the store.
    • Then to the right you'll see the three dots under the X to close. Click on the three dots.
    • When it opens click on Settings.
    • I turned update apps, live tile, and video autoplay off.

    It's an experiment for now to see what happens after I uninstall paradise bay, minecraft, et al. You guys didn't have your build or versions listed so if you're lower than 1903 you may have to go with the tutorials as the first two have registry mods to use and applocker uses a CMD prompt.

    One item I thought about was windows propensity to return some settings to their defaults after most FU's and some CU's so it would pay to check these settings after either of the updates.
    thanks. Can I safely do the same with the X Box folders. I am on 1903 by the way

    I don't follow you. Do you mean uninstall x-box like uninstalling onedrive?

    If so there are several options in this tutorial: Uninstall Apps in Windows 10 That are similar to the onedrive uninstall;
    • Options one, two, nine, and ten are similar.
    • All other options use either a CMD prompt or Powershell and are more complicated but if you're up to it, go for it.

    Check 'em out.

    currently most of my start menu icons have changed to blank square with an arrow. When I checked it tells me they are unavailable at present as 'windows is working on them' - GET OFF! It even put Office back in which I had deleted.
    still the same a week later

    I'm mainly a Win 7 user.
    The programs links are stored on
    C:\Users\Luiz\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu (user links)
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs (all users links)

    What I normally do is to save those folders to a backup so I can restore after an update or Clean install.

    My questions are:
    - Does any of the Win 10 apps are loaded on startup and stay resident on memory?
    - In with folder the links are saved to?

    I want to delete the links and save them to a folder so I can restore them after an update.
    I don't care if they are installed as long as they don't load on startup stay resident on memory.

    I am increasingly getting more and more of my 'puzzle' games crashing, it simply HAS TO BE WIN 10.
