    Legacy mode is not supported

    HI,

Ive bought a brand new Laptop with no operating system (DOS)

While trying to install windows 10 from a bootable USB stick the following problem occures :

I cant activate Legacy mode ,the option is not even there ! ,Only UEFI is supported .

Note that i've disabled fast boot and secure boot.

I can only access EFI Shell ,which i dont no nothing about .

I can only say that shell's ( Device mapping table) shows fs0, blk0,blk1,blk2,blk4 and all are set so <null> which i think all the peripherals including the Harddrive are disabled.

Please help me solving this !

Hi 2busammer. Welcome to the TenForums @2busammer

Sounds like an issue with your boot media rather than you laptop. How did you create boot media?

Have you seen this tutorial. It uses the Media Creation Tool to create media and it will boot UEFI.

    Clean Install Windows 10

The media creation tool is available here

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10

This will create a USB Thumbdrive with 1903 on it. You said new laptop but there are still blocks in place for upgrading devices to 1903. An earlier version like 1809 might be more appropriate.
If you want an earlier version you can go here.

Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

Then follow these instruction to make a bootable (UEFI) USB thumbdrive.

    Win 10 reset

You will need licensing keys to activate your OS.

    2busammer,

What makes you believe that your peripherals will not work simply because the firmware type is UEFI?

What type of peripherals are we talking about?

    Okay, the question phrased differently.

Where did the boot media come from?

I would still create boot media with MCT and try.

Why not just install in UEFI mode?

Update the specs in the "My Computer" section:

System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums
In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'.
After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.
System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, USB wireless network card, etc.)

Open the website for the notebook manufacturer > support > enter the product or serial number or model > select the operating system > view drivers or BIOS > post a URL or hyperlink into this thread

The capability of UEFI systems to operate in legacy mode is not going to be permanent. You can expect that newer computers are not legacy-compatible (CSM module not present).
