If you really want 1903, do an image backup of your current installation >> Just in case! << and then manually initiate the installation.

I have a pair of computers that are 100% the same in every single respect. One system I upgraded manually a month ago and it runs 1903 flawlessly. The other system is still reporting that it is not ready for 1903. I'm going to force the update on it this weekend.

Qe know your question and there is really no answer why. Microsoft just released 1903 for Mac OS Boot Camp. Something on your system is causing that error and only Microsoft knows. Try a clean install of the latest iso.

Allow me to say that you are contradicting yourself. I stated that we MS did not share much info on this and you replied

They are and Mary Jo explains why.
Now you’re saying that only MS knows why this happens.

And, again, that’s not what I am talking about.
I’m not looking to force an upgrade or to understand why my system is not upgrading automatically - as you said, only MS knows why.

I’m just wondering why a week ago I had the same message the OP mentioned and now it’s disappeared.

another funny thing is that my other desktop computer - Ryzen 3 - is still displaying that message on the Windows Update page. Not sure what the difference could be.

Again: not complaining about why my PC is not updating.

(I've disabled automatic updates via GP, that's why I have that message about the managed updates)

My Samsung Slate 7 tablet had the go ahead for 1903 today after around 3 weeks of the 'it's on it's way' text......it took over 5 hours to install. It was on 0% for 45 mins and I was so close to saying 'F' it and shutting it down. Sort of glad I didn't but 1903 runs like a pig on that system.......I am flirting with the idea of turning the Slate 7 into a Linux Mint experiment ( sorry for saying those words here ) as that O/S is lighter on resourses and much faster on that spec ( 1.5Ghz, 4gb RAM, really cr@p GPU and quite a slow SSD ).

I guess for me, the low-ish spec might have been the reason for the delay.

Happy to wait. Just curious on why my main desktop has now removed the "it's on its way" notification.

Just installed KDE Neon on the Samsung Slate 7 and it is swift ( uses 500mb RAM instead of 1.5GB RAM, clean install ) - pen and touch work as well as everything else, ..eeerrr...except Photoshop....So I have a dual boot Ubuntu and Win10 set up. Sweet!

I have an older system running an ASUS P9X79Pro motherboard and a i3930K CPU. I don't even get that message about my system not being ready for 1903.

I've decided, "The heck with it." I'm not going to spend any more time trying to decipher's Microsoft's inscrutable thinking.
