Unable to install Windows 10 on new Acer Nitro 5 AN517-52 Laptop

    Hi,
I've just bought new Acer Nitro 5 AN517-52 with a 512 GB SSD.
It came without Windows but with the EFI Shell operating system.

I downloaded the Windows 10 installation tool from their official website and preloaded the USB with a copy of Windows, then I simply followed this guide to start the installation. Installing Windows to an EFI-Based Computer

The computer rebooted, it came to a blue screen, remained there for about a minute and a half and then promptly shut down. I haven't had much luck with googling this issue.

I tried disabling secure boot, but unfortunately that didn't change the outcome. Any ideas?

I found more than I needed with a Search:
    EFI Shell at DuckDuckGo

With the Windows 10 installation USB flash drive inserted, are you pressing a Function (F) key to get into the boot override menu? It should be F8 or F12 repeatedly press as soon as the computer is powered on. That should then give you the option to boot from the flash drive. On some computers you have to press Fn + the function key.

The problem isn't getting it to boot the USB, that works, it's that when it boots from the USB, it shows a blue screen for about a minute and then the entire laptop shuts down.

Could be that the USB flash drive is bad or the download was bad. I would try a fresh download onto a different flash drive.

It will be looking for a script https://www.intel.com/content/dam/su...structions.pdf

Maybe you need to exit the shell.

Or try a different usb port and then perhaps it will show up as a device. Is there a 3.1 port ?
