Error code 0x8007045D when installing windows 10

In advance I would like to apologize for any incorrect terminology or lack of knowledge on a subject as I know next to nothing about computers.

Two days ago I got a windows update on my laptop and after updating it I could no longer get to my desktop screen. and would put me in a screen that said "RECOVERY the required files are not present" or something along those lines as I don't remember exactly. after trying several different solutions I found on forums it seemed to do nothing but make the problem worse as now when I turn my computer on it gives me a message saying that the "default boot device is missing or boot failed" so I tried to restore windows with a recovery drive, but I get an error when resetting the PC. so I am now attempting to use the windows media creation tool but during the "copying windows files" stage I will get error code 0x8007045D. it seems like ive scoured the entire internet just to find a way to get my computer to work again with absolutely no luck

Hi Lucky13. Welcome to the TenForums @Lucky13

First you need to create a boot disk and copy your data files off. If this link doesn't work let me know and I will redirect you.

    Downloads - Win14393PESE-X64 - ToolsLib

The above link downloads an iso, mount it and burn to DVD or you can follow this method to create a bootable USB, mount iso and copy the files on to the USB Thumbdrive.

    Win 10 reset

Then with the bootable media you created from the MCT follow this Clean Install tutorial. Ensure you delete all existing partitions. Ensure you have what you need off storage before deleting partitions.

    Clean Install Windows 10

Once your machine is operational you need to start using an Imaging tool like Macrium Reflect to Image your system. A restore is far easier than clean installs and you never know when you will need a restore. Always create and test boot media created by the tool of your choice, Macrium is just one tool.

Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

How far do you get following Clean Install Windows 10.
In Step 11, did you select Custom Install Windows only (Advanced)?
In Step 13 or Step 14, did you delete all existing partitions on the drive you were installing to so there was only a raw, unallocated drive left with no partitions on it?

@Ztruker yes i followed all the steps to the letter. i had gotten to step 15 (the installation of windows) where i had gotten error code 0x8007045D (the same error code as before) specifically it appears around 25-40% of the "getting files ready for installation" stage

What is the full model number of your Lenovo laptop? Are you installing from a USB 3.0 port? If so, try a USB 2.0 port?
Is you flash drive USB 2.0 or USB 3.0?

Very strange you've got so many issues after updating.
Did you do a check disk? Your disk maybe dying.
Boot from the Win 10 installation disk. Go to repair and launch a cmd window. Type
    diskpart
list volume (find with letter is the Win 10)
    exit
    then type:
    chkdsk x: /f (rplace x: with the win 10)
Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks, bad clusters etc.
