This is not true. You cannot contract with yourself.

I was responding to what you had posted. So getting stroppy about it is inappropriate.

    Hi All,
This is a VERY interesting discussion - particularly as I suspect there may well now be an accelleration of people moving from W7 to W10.
I am in Australia and my local computer store [who have been around ages, highly reputable etc etc] are selling W10 pro quoting :

"Microsoft Windows 10 Pro. Software type: Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), License type: Full packaged product (FPP), License quantity: 1 license(s). Minimum storage drive space: 20 GB, Minimum RAM: 2 GB, Minimum processor speed: 1 GHz. Language version: English, Media type: DVD"

Although not the 'cheapest' option this sounds exactly what I want - I am one who still likes DVDs !
My only concern is that it could well need truckloads of updates to be downloaded.
Anyone any thoughts or can see any issue in going W10 in this way ?
    Thanks,
    MWombat

You mean other than violating the License Agreement that you are agreeing to when you install it on the computer?

No, my question is much more simplistic than that - might even be in the wrong thread !
As this is my first ever OS upgrade, I was simply wondering whether what I described in my post will give me a clean W10 install with [hopefully] no problems. I am assuming it is all perfectly legal.
From what I have read in this forum there are of course a few other ways to achieve the same end result but on the surface what I posted looks good to me.

Any one can make the "installation" DVD legally at any time. It is the activation key source that is the issue here. The "DVD's" get old twice a year with each new feature update.

    Yes, thanks for that.
Situation re updates understood - if I go this way then I will expect 'truckloads'.
    Thanks,

I don't see any mention of what Build that is? If its one or more builds old, IMHO its not of much use other than the product code. And as mentioned, that DVD is going to become out dated pretty quickly. You will be able to clean install with it, but at some point you'll immediately end up doing a big upgrade to a new build which IMHO, negates the benefit of a clean install. The Media Creation Tool is one of the most up to date sources for Windows 10 ISO's. And that Product code should work no problem with those ISO's. Windows 10 Product Codes are not Build specific, they are just Edition specific.
