Boot up issue on a new laptop

    Hi everyone,

I got a new acer laptop this month from amazon and I had to get it replaced as there was a camera issue.
Today I got a replacement . I get these error messages.. What are your opinions guys? Has amazon and the seller cheated me with a refurbished crap of junk?? I need your responses at the earliest!

Well "No Bootable Device" is not a good sign.

Either the partition with the OS is missing or it is damaged.

You could explore installing Windows but it would not have any of the Acer bits, some think that is a good thing. That said if you have an issue later on, say a month from now and try to return it they may say you caused issue.

No new device should arrive unbootable.

Can't see image above, just camera flash, could you retake. It looks like it wants to enter the BIOS.

Myself I wouldn't waste time. You spent good money and this is what warranty is for.

This was supposed to have windows 10 pre installed. I waited for half an hour nothing came up. I got that windows boot manager only once but now I am getting only that "No bootable media found".

That's exactly what I thought. Why should I spend my time installing an OS when it was supposed to come with pre-installed OS.

Is this a piece of refurbished junk?

    This is the laptop model

If I was cheated(ie they replaced some hardware of some defective model) and they sent me old wine in new bottle then windows activation will obviously fail

I really can't comment on its state. Nothing in ad says refurbished.

That said vendors are vendors. Maybe someone bought and decided they didn't like and returned. Maybe someone was reporting wifi drops and returned. The vendor could have said there is nothing wrong and resold. When you opening you possibly could see tell tale signs, double taped, wires a little messed up. Think you would have noticed.

Even an unactivated machine will boot and in Windows 10 case will work with loss of some functionality.

The ad does not say refurbished. What I am trying to say is that since it was a replacement have they cheated me by sending me a refurbished one? The boxes and the plaster were new. The wires and the packaging appeared to be new..

Then likely it is new but I have no way to confirm.

I know nothing about the seller "New Online Deals" but overall rating is 90% positive on 170 reviews.

I would just return it and get a new one. One more strike and they are out !!

    I saw that thread.

    My advice stands.... return it.

I would try to communicate with supplier and express frustrations. Maybe they up scale you. If they sound difficult then return for refund.

I hope so.... the device is faulty.

I had a very good experience with Amazon.

Start the process, be firm and calm.
