Windows Insider Preview Program: Change "Home" to "Pro"?

I posted to the Windows Insider Preview Feedback hub, but i just remembered that you guys are many times a lot better at providing useful information, so please forgive the similarity to double-posting-

I have two issues. This post addresses the minor issue:

I thought i had configured my laptop into the Insider Preview program as the "Pro" configuration, but it shows "Home". Can i easily upgrade this? I had lent the laptop to my daughter a year or two ago and never noticed the error until i just went to update everything.

    Thank-you!.

    Hello Bruce,

If you have the Windows 10 Pro product key for the laptop, you could change the product key to it to quickly upgrade to Pro from Home.

I appreciate your help very much!

Unfortunately it won't take it - if i recall correctly, when they made these available, the key for any one edition was all the same; they did not issue separate keys. Thank-you, regardless of my stumbling, for your trying to help me!

edit: As a matter of fact, this one:

That's a generic Pro key, you can't activate with it.

But you can upgrade from Home to Pro with it if the computer has a digital license for Pro stored on Microsoft activation servers.

OK folks, I have what we can call a generically weird story for you now, for those of you who might object to me claiming that the hand of God was involved-

I have thousands, quite literally, of digital pictures stored on this computer. As a matter of fact, i even lost about two years' worth in 2011 due to my stupidity of not keeping a backup.

My desktop wallpaper changes every half hour. This morning i got up, made my coffee and sat down at my main computer. On the center screen (center to where i sit, i run two screens) was a picture i took long ago of a reference screen display of multiple installation keys - by some dates on the picture, it appears to have been around October, 2015, and i have no idea why i kept it in family photographs as normally if i noticed such an arcane item, i would have deleted it. They were each designated for different build versions. Though i could not see the entire picture (i could have still looked it up if necessary), i started trying each of the ones i could see. The last of the five, designated for W10 Pro, worked!

Thank-you, everyone, i depend on the your good nature and support.

Right, I forgot. I've seen you and several others tell people to do that successfully. Thanks
