Windows 10 install on my laptop failed and now it's repairing the disk

So today, I thought I'd take a whack at trying to install Windows 10 on my laptop. Well what happened was it was really close to finishing the install, and it was like stuck on one percentage for a really long time, so I dunno if it was frozen or what. So, I powered it off, and then I turned it back on again, and it said it was going to restore my previous version of windows, but what it ended up doing is doing automatic repairing. So the screen says "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." It's been over an hour now. Should I let it keep running, or what? The hdd is blinking a lot so I assume that it's still doing it's thing. My laptop was running only Win 8 not 8.1 when I was attempting to the upgrade.

Yes. Let it continue if the HDD indicator is blinking.

I don't hear it clicking though, I dunno, like..I see the hdd blinking, but like..I don't hear audible clicking, even if it isn't clicking audibly, should I still wait for awhile longer? I hear it click like 4 times or so every few secs

If you hear it clicking that's bad, means it failing. You should never hear a hard drive.

Give it some time, like 2 or even 3 hours. Better to wait and (maybe) have it complete.

It's not like a bad click, it's just the standard read sound.

Ah, okay. Still, give it some time.

Scanning and repairing drive C happened to do the trick. :) Now I can use my laptop again like nothing happened, and quite frankly, that's good enough for me honestly. I rarely use my laptop that much anyway. Maybe I'll try to install windows 10 again, but for the moment I think I've had enough for one day with it.
