Updated from 7 to Win 10 or Pro?

When the free updates from Win7 where being distributed i cant recall how i got 10Pro, was this an upgrade option at the time?
I want to do a complete fresh install of Win10 and i noticed i now have the pro edition but if i do fresh install will it still be pro edition?

Hi, this shows the possible upgrade paths, and may jog your memory.

Y - MS's activation servers remember what you have.

    Consider:

    - which can make things easier in some situations.

Another possible upgrade path (which I'm guessing you didn't use):

If you're having problems with Win 10, one useful technique is an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs, data, most settings.

There are other options too to refresh Windows.

    Tutorials available.
