    acer aspire one 722

    Acer Aspire One 722
    amd dual-coreprocessor c60
    8gigs ram
    crucial ssd 240 gig MBR
    Windows 10 pro 1809
    bios update to newest version
    InsydeH20 setup utility
Apparently this computer doesn't like gpt disks.
Tried to convert disk to gpt using microsoft's mbr2gpt program
and it showed completed but when I rebooted it showed no boot disk found.
tried macrium rescue flash drive to rebuild the drive but that didn't work.
neither did repair pc from my win 10 1809 flash drive.
So I reloaded win10 setup and deleted all partitions.
reinstalled clean. Which went smoothly (though I hated the Cortana setup).
I didn't create gpt partitions but mbr ones.
note there are no options in bios for secure boot or fast boot.
I don't know if pulling the drive and plugging it into another computer by usb,
and converting it to gpt would work or not, Probably just mess it up again.

Check to see if laptop support Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) if it does enable UEFI from BIOS setup utility before converting Windows installed disk to GPT disk.

The computer must support UEFI to boot from a GPT partitioned drive.

And that's why the drive failed to boot after it was converted to GPT. Legacy BIOS can only boot from an MBR drive. Extra storage drives can be GPT partitioned, but the boot drive must be MBR with an active partition set on it.

mbr. and with 8 gigs there are several virtual os builds I can try on it. with the ssd it does fly.
