Windows 10 Digital License
What would happen if I purchase another copy of Windows and use that product key on the same computer that already has a digital license for that edition of Windows?

If you already have a licence on that computer then save the number for another computer
By "edition" do you mean Home, Pro, etc? If it's currently running Home, and you install Pro and activate, that device will have two DL's, one for Home and one for Pro. If the new key is in fact for the same edition that already has a DL, as aleady mentioned and as far as I know, there is nothing to be gained from entering the second key?
Just to clarify things, Windows 10 product keys can be used on any build. Getting newer install media doesn't mean you have to use the newer key to install it. You just skip entering a key if that PC already has DL. You could also enter the key you already have with the new media. My My Visual Studio product codes are good for pretty ewell every Consumer Edition of Windows 10. All the recent ones anyway. I'd have to go way back to the early builds to maybe have an issue with keys.
