Installing Win 10 x64 using a flash memory

    Hello all,

I'm going to re-install Windows 10 x 64. My SDD is of 256 GB size containing two drives. The C drive is to be for installation and the D drives contains my valuable data.

I want to use the Rufus app to install the .iso file of the windows into a 32 GB flash memory. What details should I use for that flash memory in terms of scheme, file system etc to be able to use it for installing Windows please?

    I used:
Partition Scheme: MBR, Target System: BIOS(or UEFI-CSM), File System: NTFS, Cluster size: Default Result => Failed to install, saying a message about GPT.

    Should I modify BIOS settings?

    Rufus = Option 2.

Great idea to keep personal data off C: - consider not relocating user folders- whilst supported, people sometimes make bad mistakes doing that. You can create libraries and add folders to libraries.

Install Windows to unallocated space. If your BIOS supports it, UEFI/GPT is best.

Unless its urgent I would wait as the new version of windows is out soon it would be quicker and better to boot that

@Samuria - I perceive you are an optimist . Or do you have good reason to think 1903 on release will be free of problems- unlke both 1803 and 1809?

I prefer to wait until at least after the first major update is released subsequently.

The Windows 10 iso can be created by a direct download from the Microsoft website.
    Rufus is not required.
The iso should work on Legacy/BIOS and UEFI/GPT.

    Thank you all very much.
I changed the style of the flash memory to GPT and installation was successful.

In summary, if the HDD/SSD style is MBR, the installation media (whether it's a DVD or flash memory) must also be in the MBR style in order to be able to install Windows (7/10)
And the same scenario for GPT.
    Do you agree?

Before installing Windows, i suggest you to update motherboard BIOS to the latest version 2303.

Thanks, I downloaded that BIOS .CAP file. Should I also download that app, I mean "ASUS EZ flash 2"?
And another quesion is, I've installed Windows and a number of other apps on it. Do you still recommend that I update my BIOS now? Won't this process affect the OS or be very risky?

Thanks so much for this, I will certainly use it if it has good influance on my system.
But one question please, what will happen if the electricity is cut in the middle of BIOS updating? It's not very rare here?
What parts will get damage? Programs (on C or D drives) or even hardware parts too?
