Surface Book 2 clean install - what about the drivers?

I was creating a recovery drive, just to have as a backup, for my Surface Book 2.

I'm wondering, if I completely reinstall Windows 10 from the recover drive, a clean install, does Windows 10 automatically install all the drivers for the hardware? I didn't get any discs with my SB 2.

For example, I'm wondering if I would need to download the drivers for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 myself or will Windows 10 recognise the graphics card and do the job for me?

    Hi, actually a clean install
Clean Install Windows 10 | Tutorials
involves downloading an iso file, wiping all existing partitions, creating a bootable medium from the iso and booting your PC from that. iso's fo r all Win 10 builds are freely downloadable, using MS's media creation tool, or an iso downloader in the 3rd post in the thread about Kyhi's boot disk at the top of the Software and Apps section here.

There are other ways of getting iso's too.

A recovery drive is a different thing.

Drivers are provided when you install Windows. Activation should be automatic, based on your digital entitlement registered on MS's servers.

    Hi @dalchina.

It seems to be, with the Surface range, Microsoft calls anything that you can reinstall Windows 10 with recovery media, unless I'm reading it wrong.

When you use this "recovery drive" it gives you the option to:

Choose either Just remove my files or Fully clean the drive.
The option to clean the drive is more secure but takes much longer. For example, if you’re recycling your Surface, you should clean the drive. If you’re keeping your Surface, you just need to remove your files.
