After burning the iso file on a cd/dvd, and starting the setup, will it erase my current system together with installed office ? have to enter licence and activation then install office again ? These questions bother me and I would like to know exactly all the answers before I do anything.
If you use the ISO to perform an in-place upgrade of your existing system then your keep all your files and installed programs.

You don't actually need to burn the ISO to a DVD in order to perform an upgrade, you only need a DVD if you intend to boot from it to do a clean install (which would wipe out your installed Office).

To perform an in-place upgrade keeping your files and installed programs, first mount the ISO file by double-clicking on it. This will mount the ISO as a virtual DVD drive. Find Setup.exe on the root of the virtual DVD drive and run it to start the upgrade. The process of running an in-place upgrade is described starting at Step 4 this tutorial.

    Hello and thank you Bree,
This is the answer I was waiting for. Managed to download the "Win10_1803_English_x64.iso" file from microsoft. Read carefully your tutorial, and when the net will be less busy I'll try to make the update.
Just a small question left, my system is pro, does the installation file recognize it or do I have to select something?
    Answers will be appreciated
    Thanks again
    Motim.

No need to select anything. The ISO contains both Home and Pro. The upgrade will use the one appropriate to your system, Pro in your case.

    Hello and thank you Bree,
One more small question, in case something goes wrong, how do I go back to my good 1709 system.
    Thanks

Which Windows iso version did you choose?
    What was the source?

Make a backup image using Macrium or similar software
Macrium Software | Your Image is Everything
    (Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Paragon, etc.)
There are free and pay versions.
Save the backup image to another disk drive (not another partition on the same drive)

In the past a metered connection had blocked Windows upgrades.
However that has not worked on the latest versions.
Not having had an automatic upgrade from 1709 to 1803 it is likely that there is an underlying problem.
Had you seen any error messages or codes?

If the upgrade works then you are set.
If the upgrade fails then run setupdiag and post the results into the thread using a share link (one drive, drop box, or google drive)

You have said before that you have Macrium installed. As zbook said, make a system image with Macrium before you start, then you can restore it if all goes wrong.

    Hello and Thanks,
Will this upgrade overwrite all the installed drivers, do I have to reinstall each one of them ? or am I worried about nothing ?
    Answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks

An in-place upgrade may replace drivers if windows update finds newer versions. Usually Windows is good at finding the right drivers, so it should be nothing to worry about. Make a system image before you begin so you can go back, if you are at all concerned.

    Hello,
    Thanks for the answer.
One last (hopefully) question: My win 10 1709 pro is fully licensed and activated. After the upgrade do I have to license / activate it again ?
    Answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks
