You would need to purchase a Windows 10 Home License Key. You can then change your license key by doing the following steps;
Go to Settings > Update & security > Activation and enter in your Windows Home Key. You could try using the WIndows Home Generic key but I'm not sure if it works from Education to Home; TX9XD-98N7V-6WMQ6-BX7FG-H8Q99
Good morning, Abita.
I guess the first thing to ask is, how did you get Education. Is it an Insider Preview, or is it a retail version "off the shelf" so to speak. Also, is it activated?
Secondly, do you have a product key for Windows Home? If I'm reading your question right, your computer has already had Windows 10 Home on it, so I suspect you already have a product key.
As an aside, I've looked here Windows 10 editions comparison. Which one is right for you? and see that the difference between Home features and Education features is vast; if it were me making the choice, I'd go with keeping Education.
That will usually work with any Edition Except Home. You go up from Home to any other Edition with a change key but you can't go back down to Home without reinstalling Windows.
I have several PC's here with multiple Digital Licenses. I can go up and down Editions with the generic keys. Home is the only exception though, change product key will not let you downgrade to Home.
Also, as you've hinted at. Generic keys will only work if that PC already has a Digital License for the Edition the key is for. If there is no preexisting DL for that edition, the generic key is rejected.
