Cannot load from CD or USB

I volunteer for a non-profit job corps. They were given some PCs with Windows 8 on them. They want to upgrade to 10, but the previous owners do not allow the machine to boot from the CD or the USB. Of course, no one knows the BIOS passwords to turn it off. Is there a bypass or a software to help? Thanks!!

To do the upgrade from 8 to 10 you do not boot from a USB flash drive or DVD. You run setup.exe on the flash drive or DVD from within Windows.

I believe you can clear the BIOS password by doing a CMOS test either by unplugging the power supply and removing the button battery on the motherboard, or some motherboards have a CMOS reset jumper.

That very much depends on the exact make and even model of the PC. Some OEMs do provide a way to reset their bios password.

The best thing to do is look up the exact model on the manufacturer's support site. If possible, enter the PC's serial number or service tag to get the specific support for that machine. If there is an OEM bios password reset procedure, you'll find it there.
