How to Swap 'C' Drive for a Larger 'C' Drive??

I have a Desktop PC with three SSDs for various apps and programs of which one of them is 500Gb which only has Windows 10 installed on it.

What's the best way to go about swapping out this 500Gb SSD which is the 'C' Drive' for a larger capacity SSD??

I've got a backup of my 'C' Drive on Macrium Reflect so can I simply take out the old C Drive, install the new SSD and import Windows 10 from my Macrium Reflect recovery USB stick or is that not a good idea?

Maybe I have to Clone the original 'C' Drive first, I don't know.

If you have a current Macrium Reflect disc image (all partitions of the Win 10 drive), just "restore" the disc image to the new SSD. However the C partitiion will be the same size as the original. You will have to expand the C partition up to the available unused space. Macrium is supposed to be able to do this but I haven't tried it. I use the free version of Mini Tool Partition Wizard to capture the unused space.

I did this exact thing when I upgraded my 500GB SSD to a 1TB SSD.

You can also restore the image by dragging and dropping the partitions one at a time from the image to the blank SSD. When you do the C: drive partition, that is when you can resize it.

EaseUS Todo allows you to clone to different drive sizes. No having to deal with expanding the partition and other headaches after.
