    Windows 10 1709 Upgrade

    Hello Forum,
    I need your advice please.
As you know, my pc is running Windows 10 pro 64bit, 1709. I stopped the auto updates,(because of the repeating KB4023057 installations) I visit the MS update catalog to see if there are new updates, specially security updates, download and install them manually.
Now I see out there is a 1809 upgrade and I have not even the 1803 upgrade.
Searching the internet found how to upgrade manually.
I read somewhere there are some things missing in the new upgrade, do not remember what they are.
Can you give me an advice should I upgrade to latest version ?
What I gain and what I lose ?
Is my licence valid also for the upgrade ?
    Answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Motim

You have a fairly modern computer, Upgrading to newest version should work fine. You gain last security upgrades for one, nothing to sneeze on, it's been greatly improved since. Also many assorted visual and control settings, just too many to list. Also gained some more control over updates and what's reported to MS.

    Hello and thanks,
I have several programs installed, Office, Macrium free edition, few other programs. All others are portable. What happens to the installed programs after the upgrade ?

I have MS Office 2013 installed, also Macrium Reflect free and many others, nothing bad happened to them, everything still works. Speaking of MR, newest update to 7.2 was released just yesterday and it fixes some problems with latest Windows, make sure you update it first or reinstall later.

The installed programs stay as long as you do not do a fresh install of the OS.

Your digital licence is only valid for one edition, Home or Pro. But it is valid for all versions of that edition, 32-bit, 64-bit, any version from the original 1507 up to the current 1809 (and for the future versions of Windows 10).
