You`ll probably start getting messages from Microsoft telling you you must update to keep receiving Security updates.

Not sure how long it will be before you start getting them, but I know because I wait a long time to update, I start to get them

Think you are misunderstanding, I run Windows Update and get no response.

    OK, I understand

But it`s too soon to start getting those messages anyway, it should take awhile longer.

I`m still using 1803 and have not received any notices about Security updates yet.

But I don`t deal with W10 Home, hopefully someone with Home will see the thread and give you some more advice

Do you still get Windows Defender updates everyday ?

    1. Basic steps

I did a rollback while running 1809 KB4471332 and was not getting updates and it rolled me back to 1803 which was the original install. I also went online and did an upgrade and got the same problem with remote desktop being disabled.

I was just trying to get something to work, I did not know that I had been rolled back to 1803 until later. I have a big problem with MS forcing updates on me anyway.

If this happened to you, then you should be able to understand what happened to me and I bet there is no documentation on it either.
That was intended to suggest some simple things you could try.

    Have you done that?

Have you checked your PCs are approved by your manufacturer(s) for 1809? Some produce lists- others don't.

    2. Getting control of updates with Home- when you are in difficulties
If you are happy with 1803 and all works with that, you can block automatic updates completely if you wish
Stop Windows 10 Updates Properly and Completely Solved - Windows 10 Forums

    and use e.g.
Windows Update Minitool (free) to check manually.

This can be useful for PCs with Home which have problems.

From your other comments I'm wondering if Windows Update is broken on one or more of your PCs.
Again, try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

    3. Documentation
My feeling is you're simply frustrated and want to force your PCs to do something.

It is not correct to say there is no documentation. It is true to say that the error messages and extensive logs available are often confusing and unhelpful.

    See e.g.

    - this section

If you follow all the many links and the links therein you will find lots of documentation.

Unfortunately resolving each individual problem may not be easy as there can be many causes.
