For the purposes asked about there should be no difference. The Pro version is aimed more towards businesses, setups on company networks. There is a difference in maximum supported memory/RAM between the 2 editions, may be important for some uses.
Whats the maximum RAM support for Windows 10 Home Edition and - Microsoft Community

No difference for your basic needs but the Pro version has the advantage you can defer feature updates and provides the Group Policy Editor.

No, Pro is no better for gaming than Home, but if you have a Pro key than I would use it.

You update W10 Pro the same way you update W10 Home, through windows update.

Why are you confused about this ??

If you want to go from Home to Pro just change your key using the Retail Pro key you bought.

All it does is unlock the Pro Features.

Exactly, you can postpone the new version update for up to 365 days if you want, which allows more bugs to be worked out, and gives more time for hardware compatibility.

I usually wait at least 3 or 4 months before updating to the new version, sometimes longer.

With the recall, 1809 has not even been out for 2 months yet.

1803 is working great, so there`s no reason to install 1809 yet, in my opinion.

I use the MCT to get the Version Upgrades [both Bootable USB and .iso file] then when an update to a Version comes out I get the install running then use the Learn more item on the updates page of Settings to download the Offline files for use on computers with slow connections when necessary.
