That does not change the fact the Microsoft DOES limit the number of times that a retail license can be activated via automatic activation over the internet on different computers within a specific timeframe. Once that limit is reached, the user can continue to activate that retail license on different computers, but they must use telephone activation to do so.
Yep, I don't disagree with you. And you're right at times one can be fronted with activation phone activations, though I also saw after a while with the same PC they will allow the act part automatically again ... MS can do whatever they like with their software. We the consumers just pay to use their software with a license, we don't own it
I believe to have an entirely automatically activation without ever having the phone activations one would have to have the corporate license version.
I think just the price for volume corporate license would be enough for a home user to stay away from unless it was illegal. Though I do remember back in the days with windows 2000 never to have to enter a license key or ever getting the phone activations, just install and everything was working lol .... same with the xp version
