How do I reformat entire computer?

See the attached JPGs. The first one is pictures of my computer screen where I set in BIOS to boot from USB. The first pic on that slide is the file information for the only executable on the USB drive.

The second slide shows most of the steps brought upon by the executable on the USB drive.

The BIOS screens are a little foreign to me based on my experience with other computers, but I believe that I have my computer booting from the USB drive.

Let me know if I'm wrong and how to rectify my error. The slide components are cropped images from my camera. I can expand any of the components if needed so that you can read them more clearly.

You shouldn't have to, but, it appears something went south. Personally, I would reinstall the recently created MR image. And follow the tutorial again. It should meet your needs.

On a computer that is running Windows normally, you need to click on Download Tool Now on this page:
Download Windows 10



Save the downloaded file to the hard drive.
Insert a USB flash drive that can be erased with a size of 8-32 GB.
Then run the file that was saved from the hard drive.
Select the option to Create Installation Media:



and let the program create an installation USB flash drive for you:



Then boot the computer with the problem from the USB flash drive that gets created.

Right now you don't have a bootable USB Windows 10 USB flash drive. All you have is a flash drive with the media creation tool saved on it.

Now I see that you ran setup.exe from the flash drive as mentioned in post #10 by the ever observant @NavyLCDR.
Follow the instructions as posted by @NavyLCDR in post # 14 and you will have a fresh clean install.

...with the USB stick in, use the 1 time boot key (usually F8) to bring up the boot menu, there should be 2 USB stick options, choose the UEFI USB option...

The OP's specs say they have an Acer. On my Acer laptop the one-time boot menu is F12, googling suggests all Acers use F12. Apparently on some Acers you may need to enable the one-time boot option before you can use it. To do that use F2 at boot to enter the bios.

Thanks to all again for sticking with me on this. After using MR to re-get my computer back to where it was, I see that it does work. A comfort. But a circular routine with my computer back to where it was at the beginning of this journey with one possibly exception - My boot and associated drives are still dynamic. Maybe they were initially, but I doubt it. I think that I changed from basic to dynamic in a recent attempt to reformat my computer..

I'll now continue to do the recommendations posted by NavyNCLDR. Of course I'll report back.

According to instructions

What I did and results

• Tried the above approach
• Downloaded MediaCreationTool1809.exe to my hard drive
• Got a return message after "Creating Windows 10 Media" completed (took maybe an hour) that something went wrong. (see screenshot)
• Checked the contents of the USB drive and got the message that it needs to be reformatted (see screenshot)
• Tried the routine again after formatting the USB drive and got the same result and error messages.
