Downgrade and reinstall the previous version Windows

Do you know if it is possible to downgrade from v 1809 and reinstall the previous version (V1803) starting from the iso file, keeping my applications and documents, having cleaned the disk and removed the previous version?

    Thank you

    Hi there

Method 1) - download the relevant build from UUPDUMP site and run the program --select the retail version not the insider builds -- you'll have to clean install though doing that way. Version will still be 1803.

Method 2) restore image taken assuming you imaged your system before doing upgrades -- if you didn't then do it in future -- programs like free macrium are easy to use for backing up system and restoring it. Keep OS / programs separate from your data, multi media files etc etc.

    Cheers

Hi, that option (to keep everything) existed for 10 days after upgrading to 1809. After that, Windows.old would have been deleted automatically.

Why do you wish to revert to an earlier build?

A few people have problems with a particular driver on upgrading, for example.

Assuming the Windows.old folder is not deleted, keep pressing the Shift key and restart. You should see a screen with options. Select Troubleshoot (or similar) and then the Restore Previous Windows version. If it isn't there probably you exceeded the days given to revert to previous Windows version and you have to do it the hard way. That is backup all of your data and format and reinstall Windows and all your applications. Unless you have a severe problem with v1809 it's not worth all that trouble. If it is a driver issue, give us more details to help you.
