Windows Insider Update freezes on "Working on Updates" after reboot

Hey there, I'm not sure if there's an extra section for Insider stuff, so I'll post it here.

Anyway, my problem is that for the past week I've been trying to get the 19H1 Insider Fast Ring update to work, but when my PC reboots to install the update and gets to the "Working on Updates" screen, it always freezes at around 15%.

I've tried deleting the downloaded update files, resetting Windows Update, running the troubleshooter, which at some point did find a registry issue but still changed nothing and now I've gone ahead and did a complete clean install of Windows, but the problem still persists. On the hardware side, I've tried different RAM configurations, unplugging drives and trying different USB ports (for peripherals). So I'm at a complete loss here and this is basically my last resort.

I haven't seen this issue documented pretty much anywhere else or it got solved by a reinstall (which didn't help me). I'm thinking (hoping) this is maybe an issue with the update itself because there have been issues with people installing updates and specifically Insider builds before.

And I really don't know anywhere else to go but here, as MS Support never helped to solve any problem for me.

Okay, so I was fiddling with more things and I figured it out!

Turned out to be a driver issue, which for some reason I didn't think of investigating.

When I looked at the Downloads page for the Z77 Extreme4 I thought it was just a bunch of tools & utilities, but I didn't see that between the mess of useless tools there were some drivers hidden in there and so I installed the SATA and USB drivers from there and now it worked. Which is pretty weird because other than Windows Updates not installing I had no other issues with anything. Maybe it was also just the stars aligning in the exact right way and now it magically works, but I really don't want to bother with the "Why" as I've been sitting on this issue for days now.
