Windows 10 won't boot after fresh installation on Asus Vivobook F510UA
I feel like I am running out of options here.
I have an Asus Vivobook F510UA-AH51 with a newly installed Crucial M.2 SATA model MX500 (CT250MX500SSD4). I removed the originally installed SATA hard drive and am only running the installation with a single stick of RAM (the original). I downloaded Windows 10 v1803 64-bit ISO from Microsoft VLSC and created a bootable USB using Rufus with the following options: . Don't mind the ISO used in the picture, I tried v1709 after I thought maybe it was an issue with 1803 but I had the same results.
I can boot just fine with UEFI option for the USB. Installer runs without issue. Before attempting to install, I press Shift+F10 and run diskpart to "clean" the drive. Then I select the single unallocated volume and click NEXT to install. No errors are presented during installation, and the laptop is restarted to continue installation...except that it never gets past that. Upon reboot, if I leave my USB installer, it automatically reboots to the USB installer. If I press "Escape" to show boot options after the POST, I only see "Enter Setup" for the UEFI. Once in the UEFI, I can still see the SSD shown (it is disk1) but when I go into the boot menu, it says "The system cannot find any bootable devices".
I have done this installation with all permutations for the following settings:
Fast Boot: Enabled/Disabled
CSM Support (I believe this is the Legacy/UEFI setting: Enabled/Disabled
Secure Boot Control: Enabled/Disabled
I have even tried clearing the Secure Boot Keys and defaulted the entire UEFI settings, saved, rebooted, then tried installing with the same issue. Crucial lists this SSD as a compatible part and I believe it is working, but something about the hardware or settings I am using or the way the USB installer is working...maybe even the EFI version is off or not 2.0...I don't know. I've even tried a different USB drive and I get the same issue.
One thing to note is that for the Secure Boot mode, I can't change any settings to "Other OS" or "UEFI". I do see a "Platform Mode" that changes from Setup to User but I can't change that setting manually - it changes based on whether or not the default Keys are installed for secure boot.
I appreciate any and all help in advance!
