In place Upgrade Windows Enterprise with Windows 10 Pro or Home?

Can I download a WIndows Home or Pro ISO file then use it to in-place upgrade a Windows Enterprise system?

Will it not alter some GPO configured by a system admin if it is possible?

    Thanks

If you have access to a My Visual Studio Subscription, The Windows 10 (Business Edition) 1803 ISO has Enterprise, and should be usable for what you want to do. What build are you on, and what build do you want?
I don't know if the MCT ISO has Enterprise or not, I suspect not. I haven't used the Media Creation Tool ISO in ages.

I have no idea if it will undo any GPO settings?

Hello Dave, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You can download a Windows 10 Enterprise ISO file at the Microsoft site below.

    Microsoft Evaluation Center

As long as the ISO is for the same edition, version, and language as what you currently have installed, nothing should be affected when doing a repair install (in-place upgrade).

To be extra safe, you can backup your local group policy settings if you should need to restore them.

Thanks, Brink. I had to pause what I was planning to do...

I was reviewing the In-place Upgrade instructions while downloading the ISO and found out that it is going to create a Windows.old folder... I am in a corporate domain and I am guessing that when I in-place upgrade I might lose my corporate settings and run into more serious problems as it is wiping my user profile (E.g. losing connection to company network, not being able to log onto domain)

The reason why I am not contacting our IT is because they will only perform a clean image of my system... I was hoping to just repair it

It would be best to do what your IT department wants to do.
