Yes, normally wired.. can switch readily to WiFi.
Thank you dalchina.
I guess either one has to be 'disconnected' or so?
I mean, if you access a website and both wired and wireless are active...eh ...
Maybe I just give it a try tomorrow - have some spare cable somewhere.
Example- if I disconnect my ethernet cable, then, if Wifi is enabled (e.g. tile in Action Centre), Wifi connects. (Naturally it's configured for my router).
It's always a good idea to export the drivers to an external storage location when a computer is new and/or operating properly. In a command prompt (admin) or powershell (admin) window run:
dism /online /export-driver /destination:F:\Drivers
The path in red can be changed to whatever drive letter and folder is on your external storage device to hold the drivers. I just put them on the Windows 10 installation USB flash drive (but don't erase them when it's time to update the flash drive!) That way when you do a clean install of Windows 10 and you discover that Microsoft does not provide a generic driver for your specific hardware, you can reload it very easily from your driver backup.
You might also want to check Safe Mode with Networking.... maybe just out of curiosity.
E.g.
How to Start Windows 10 in Safe Mode with Networking
Thanks for replies.
Whilst wondering whether I could 'integrate' these drivers into USB Windows (created by Media Creation Tool)
I found a thread from Kari at
DISM - Add or Remove Drivers on an Offline Image
I might give that a try, hopefully it might also work for wifi drivers.
