Does Media Creation Tool-USB also include WiFi drivers?

Laptop install: I am installing Windows 10x 64 using USB created by the latest media creation tool.
All goes fine upto the point where it says 'Let's connect you to a network'.
Nothing shows up, even not after a couple of minutes.

The laptop is just 1m away from my modem and the WiFi signal is very strong, I know.

Now, yesterday, after unpacking the laptop, WiFi worked.

I decided to just start with a clean system.
Formatted the SSD before starting the setup of Windows.

Device Manager->Network Adapters doe not show anything with WiFi, it shows Bluetooth device (Personal Area Network), Bluetooth (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) and all other are WAN Miniport.

Any suggestions?



(note: when skipping this step, Windows install obviously goes on, but there is simply no way get connected, at least not using WiFi.)

Hi, check your Device Manager, Network Adapters. Is there a yellow triangle there? If so, try scanning for a driver.
If not, try rt clicking and 'Scan for hardware changes'

What type of laptop is it?
You could also go to the manufacturer's site and download the appropriate driver.

Needed a driver for Intel Wireless LAN Driver (AC 9560)
Thanks for the suggestion.

Frankly, I would assume this to be available on the Media Creation Tool-USB.
After all - it is a wellknown wireless card.

Still feel it is an omission though. I am installing Windows 10 on a clean system. No data on the disk, nothing.
I end up having no WiFi connection.
Now, IF the laptop would be the -only- device available (I have a PC as fallback), then what?

I have started the install twice, checking for whatever I might have missed. Didn't think of the driver: I assumed that a clean Windows install would get me a working system. After all, WiFi isn't something exotic, like some very old device.

In fact.. how am I supposed to download the driver, if I don't have a Internet connection.
The last thing one would assume is to establish a wired connection...

Usually at that point I skip connecting to a network. For the four or five laptops of different makes that I've installed W10 on the WiFi drivers have been found and loaded by the time W10 boots. Only then do I check for updates.

Which Windows build are you using? Windows key + R, winver.

Personally I normally use an ethernet connection - but as you say, in some circumstances that is not available.

It was 1803 17134.17x something, I don't know now, after rebooting it has updated to .345

I can return to use my pc and have a fallback on experts here. As said, if you don't have this 'fallback' and don't think of establishing a wired connection...
After all, most laptops are supposed to be used wireless, let's say in the living room.

Just come to think of it, have you any experience of using both wireless and wired ?
