Oh thanks. I has actually used this last night to get my product key, just in case I needed it for the 10 installation.

    Very handy!

    Thanks a lot.

Would you know where can I locate the 3 Windows 10 downloads that failed on me?

Just so I can remove them so they are not taking up any space on me. Thanks!

Unhide hidden folders and check C:\$windows.~WS and C:\$windows.~BT

    Update:
If you're not able to delete them, you might be able to do it by running a disk cleanup.
Right click the drive, select properties from the bottom of the list. In the General tab select disk cleanup, wait for it to calculate, then click clean up system files, wait again then while it finds all the update files - hopefully it will remove the folder then, and select OK to delete it.

Paul, these are the directories the MS Creation tool puts its data:
    C:\$windows.~WS and
    C:\$windows.~BT

Don't mind the extensions, that's how Microsoft names them.

In Windows explorer view hidden files and check if you have these two.

If you have them, you can delete them either with a disk cleanup (for system files) or by running the following commands in an elevated command prompt (run as Administrator)

    Code:
    takeown /F C:\$Windows.~BT\* /R /A
    icacls C:\$Windows.~BT\*.* /T /grant administrators:F
    rmdir /S /Q C:\$Windows.~BT\
    Code:
    takeown /F C:\$Windows.~WS\* /R /A
    icacls C:\$Windows.~WS\*.* /T /grant administrators:F
    rmdir /S /Q C:\$Windows.~WS\

I have an old Dell XPS 17 (L702x) running Windows 7 for the last 5 years that I've had it - very well with no tangible benefit to Win10 upgrade.
16GB of ram and I just upgraded the HDD to SSD.

My newer laptop, MSI GT80 Titan SLI came with Win10.
