I thought if you had a W7 key, you can use that to activate W10, no need to install 7, Yes, No ??

Clean install, yes. But if you need to retain the installed software then Vista can be upgraded to W7, which can then be upgraded to W10.

I've done the Vista to Win7 Upgrade then gotten the free Win10 Upgrade over Win7 using MCT, last time was 3 weeks ago.

Cheap and legit are not usually contained in the same sentence.

    Hi folks

you don't need to install W7 again (or even ist time).

just enter W7's serial when prompted for serial number or point to .iso if system prompts for qualifying product.

I think the W7 serial number will be checked by the install process once you have an internet connection and activation of W10 should follow.

It's a while since I've done this but certainly UPGRADE from W7 works just fine (still free) and then you can install W10 again from scratch -- digital license will have been created.

If you buy a cheap key and MS don't block it then is any offence being committed?

    Hi there
that's a question between you and "your maker". I suppose you have to assume if the source is reliable that the product is legit.

I don't actually see anywhere on the EULA that a person can't give away a copy of Windows 7 provided that person has uninstalled the program from his / her computer.

I'm sure I'm not say committing any offence if I give an uninstalled version of W7 away to a charity organisation so the organisation can get a copy of W10.

    Cheers
