    Proactive Fall Update Protective Steps?


    Hi!

    I just got Win 10 Fall Update on all my laptops and wonder if preventive steps must come next that protects data from the bug Microsoft let crawl into several million other systems before its arrest and destruction by MS tech was reported long after my own installs were done.

    Have you read the cause of the file deletions? (Directories overwritten because a flag was falsely set indicating the directories had been moved to nonstandard locations.)

    If it didn't happen during the 1809 installation, it won't happen. I believe.

    Or are you referring to the additional error with Zip archives?

    I got 17763 through the Insider program prior to its release through Windows Update. No major issue for me so far (touch wood).
