@willban1 Basic question- sorry, I made an assumption you bought the machine with an OS installed. Is that correct?
The OOBE will have been modified by HP so it will be different than what we see when we do a clean install. Much will be the same but there will be extra steps.
Microsoft has made it very easy to complete the initial configuration in Windows 10. Just make sure you read and understand each step before clicking. It will try to make you bind your computer to a Microsoft account. This is not necessarily bad, besides you have to enter your password (or PIN) every time you login. If you like me, prefer a local account instead, there is an option to do it at left bottom of the screen. Windows will once again try to convince you for a Microsoft account, just reply no and proceed. The next choices are about your privacy settings and your default applications for video, audio, photos etc. Reply whatever you want, they can be changed later.
