    Windows Installer does not start

If I try to start it in Services, I get:

Windows could not start the Windows Installer service on Local Computer.

    Error 5: Access is denied.

This is the only Windows 10 account, it's admin yes.

This error happened before, I fixed it by resetting Windows 10. Now it is happening again. I got the ISO from Microsoft from what I remember and yes I have it activated!

Hi, this is its default state on mine: it's stopped. I can start it manually, though.

Please post an equivalent screenshot demonstrating any difference.

Why are you trying to start it?

Should you in fact need to repair it (uncertain): try this free repair tool, carefully following the preparatory stages which it leads you through.

Then run it, selecting only these repairs and number 25

    Hi LSD,

if the main Tweaking wont download, choose the portable version.
As this has happened previously, i would also run an AV scan, Malware tends to block this, (trusted Installer).

My windows installer is corrupted, that's why I want to start it. I've tried all sorts of fixes online, and now yours too and nothing fixes it. I simply cannot install programs because it always says there is an error with the windows installer :/

Ok, time for an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all programs, data and most settings.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade | Windows 10 Tutorials

You will need an iso of the same base build and language as your existing installation (freely downloadable - see iso downloader tool in the 3rd post in Kyhi's boot disk thread, top of the Software and Apps section).

As ever, before making any major change to your system, create or update your disk image backup (e.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + external storage).

You could wait and mess around for a few days hoping for and trying fixes.. or you could fix it in an hour or so.
