trying to install a UEFI/GPT setup, but keep getting "unauthorised changes on firmware/OS or UEFI drivers" message.
When i disable CSM/UEFI in BIOS it works but I cant seem to get the installer to create the extra three partitions for a proper install, only one.
How did you make the USB flash drive you are trying to install from?
Rufus 3.3, with the GPT/ UEFI option. and the iso downloaded from microsoft directly
Is the USB flash drive formatted as NTFS? If so, that would likely be your problem. I don't recommend that anyone use Rufus to make the flash drive with. It's too easy to get the wrong settings, and it's so much easier to create it with diskpart.
The flash drive should be MBR partitioned with a FAT32 partition marked as active. Then you simply boot it in UEFI mode to install Windows 10 in UEFI mode on the HDD/SSD.
I don't know why you say it's easy to get the wrong settings? If you want GPT and UEFI you select it and you're done. I find it much easier than diskpart. This is with version 3.3 and later.
Shrink C drive by about 6GB from disk management.
Create new partition and format as fat32
Copy files from usb drive to new partition.
Run setup.exe from sources folder to clean install - no need to boot from usb drive - it will install as uefi..

That's more than likely the issue. Most computers will not boot from an NTFS partition in UEFI mode. And that's why I state that Rufus has too many confusing options. No options at all are required. As @Bree stated, a Windows 10 installation USB flash drive, partitioned as MBR, with a FAT32 partition marked as active will boot in any mode, legacy BIOS, CSM, or UEFI. It will install Windows based upon the mode in which it is booted.
