People just need to be aware of this strange issue and how to work around it. Simple as that.
Thanks for the heads-up Compumind .

I've been working with computers and computer systems for 30 years (so my eyesight isn't 100% any more) and I've never noticed that mic ON icon!

I don't know about anyone else but when I've done soooooo many installs I just want to get it done as quickly as possible.

ALL of my installs are done by myself with no one else around...except for my dog and she just sleeps.

I'm glad when people like you mention stuff like this and I am stunned by the amount of negatively and sarcasm from "some" users here.

    That's just my opinion.

Hi Team, shucks I did not notice this mic issue the other day installing W10_Build 1903 but always nice to know MS little intricacies are alive and everywhere we don't think about! I love the new build altho I have not met the little bugs mentioned with the build; namely the WiFi issue, but I think MS have improved so much from the very first build of W10 (!). I am very impressed considering I am a staunch member of Woodys website here at this link: MS-DEFCON System @ AskWoody this site has staunch W7 ppl, but the site is very informative for all platforms if you don't know much about your system this site is 100% recommended to all who wish to know more so they can enjoy their time n digital land ; >) Cheers all.

When I do a clean install (only way to go), I've learnt to adopt the following practices
    - disconnect internet and any/every peripheral devices (cams, mics, etc) and all other storage devices. The only connected drive is the target OS drive
    - I say "No" (or Off or Decline) to every option offered during the installation.

Any/everything can be selectively added (hardware and selected options) once the OS is installed, up and running.

Very late joining this. Dont be put off by people who already "know it all." As inexperienced reader coming to the forum for advice these kind of tips are invaluable. I note the advice to switch off all but the essential requirements before starting a clean install. And some pop ups are in very small print indeed and it doesnt occur to everyone to enlarge if it is so small they havent noticed it. Many thanks Compumind for highlighting this.

Can Cortana understand Chinese? I rarely speak English, if ever.

Is the native language of the OS via the ISO for a clean install in Mandarin?
You can use the Media Creation Tool to choose the language and download the appropriate ISO which you can use to perform a custom install.

    Let us know!

    谢谢
