    I think Cortana nightmare isn't present on PRO installation. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

    Cortana is removed from the Windows 10 Education and Windows 10 Pro Education editions.

    But it is supposed to be disabled by default...

    I also don't see it in the W10 Pro edition (Non Educational.)

    I always try my best to get rid of Cortana during installation, and the only pc that I own which might have a microphone in it would be the laptop which has also had tape stuck over the lens of the camera all its life. Come to think about it, I don't think I have ever reinstalled W10 on it, cloning the HDD to replace it with an SSD is not the same.
