Normal boot is different than recovery.
Recovery can be enabled or disabled.
Earlier in this thread there were computers displaying multiple recovery partitions.
The OP wanted to determine which recovery partition was in use and which ones could be deleted.
The reagentc /info is command line to see whether recovery is enabled or disabled.
Sometimes it does not display the location of the enabled partition and only displays enabled or disabled.

    Hi zbook,
Looks good; I chose Restart with Shift pressed, entered troubleshooting an arbitrarily System Restore. That brought up the Restore window in Safe Mode and at that point I backed out and Shut Down.
    Rebooted normally for this report.
    Thanks

    Nice
In this thread the images of disk management had displayed recovery: see posts 3, 6, 11, 14 ,15, 24, 37.
For some unknown reason the recovery was missing in the disk management image posted from your computer.
Seeing recovery enabled and testing safe boot has confirmed that the recovery partition is enabled and that you can boot into windows RE

These images were from completely different people none of whom were either the OP @Steve C or @jdUnionngarden who posted his in post 42 and recovery was clearly there.

It really isn't clear who you are replying to at this point but assuming it is me, safe boot isn't the same as safe mode and neither affect recovery either way as the choice to boot recovery is *before* you boot Windows. All you need is reagentc /info

The recovery is working properly and was confirmed by opening recovery and using command line to see that it was enabled.

    Ordinarily disk management displays recovery:

This reply is for clarification, not a complaint to anyone about mixed-up communication.
    I appreciate everyone's help /jdU
This is how I see the continuity:

jdUniongarden has been replying to @zbook at this point:
    (zbook to me):
    jdUnionngarden,
Open administrative command prompt and type: reagentc /info
When this has completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
See if you can boot into safe mode.

That's confirmation that the recovery is enabled.
Booting into safe mode is the second confirmation. For /jdU to provide.

This says Recovery is enabled correctly on partition 1 of disk 0 which fits your picture above.

Confirmation of what? What is booting into safe mode supposed to prove when normal boot is OK? The system is clearly fine.

"The recovery is working properly ..."
Am I to initiate Recovery at this point?
If so, what are the proper steps?
    Thanks,

The disk management did not display recovery as compared to the other disk management images.
The command line confirmed that recovery is enabled.
The use of safe mode confirmed that recovery was used and working properly.
    So it looks good.
With you making backup images you have a layer of protection.
One other layer of protection is restore points and the availability can be viewed with this administrative powershell command:
    Get-ComputerRestorePoint

Ah, I see what you mean.

No, the word Recovery is just a label. The recovery partition is defined by the type - the label, if it is hidden or not etc are immaterial - Windows doesn't care. What it does is looks for the first partition of the correct type and size (from the left) and uses that. For mbr it is type 27, for gpt it is de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac.

The type being correct doesn't mean it is registered - just it could be - reagentc /info will tell you if it is. The type is again what it checks (along with size) when you upgrade or run reagentc /setreimage

You could try this and look at the log if you are interested - you can see in the log how it checks the partitions and what reason it accepts them or not REAGENTC.EXE /setreimage /path r:\Recovery\WindowsRE /logpath C:\Temp\Reagent.log. I think these logs are quite interesting but perhaps not everyone is as into it as me

I agree that for @jdUnionngarden it looks good in any case

    @zbook Re: #58
I manually create a new Restore Point every morning. After the update to 1809 I found Restore Points had been turned off; I turned it back on in 'Configure' and verify each new one exists.

    It sounds like you're saying
"The use of safe mode confirmed that recovery was used and working properly.
    So it looks good."

My machine appears to be functioning properly, but I don't understand what I am seeing in the Macrium Reflect Disk View, attached again here. Perhaps you can explain ...
    Thanks very much.
