    1) There are two log collectors: DM and BETA.
The DM log collector was posted.
The BETA log collector is near the bottom of this webpage:
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
Please run the beta log collector and post a zip into this thread

    2) For disk management the image usually displays two portions in rows.
One group of rows starts with the volumes and the second group of rows starts with the disks.
Please post a new image that includes the volumes with the disks

    3) For startup and recovery system failure:
    a) change kernel memory dump to automatic memory dump
    b) uncheck the box for automatically restart
    c) reboot
    d) after any in place upgrade repair or upgrade please repeat these changes

    4) For virtual memory:
    a) check the box to automatically manage paging file size for all drives
    b) move the dot from no paging file to system managed size
    c) click ok > reboot
    d) after the reboot reopen both startup and recovery system failure and virtual memory to confirm the new settings

Caledon Ken's answer offers a link "Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade"

This link is several years old. It is not possible to do a "repair" install of any edition of Win 10 without loosing all software that you have installed outside of the app store. In other words all third party stuff like word processors, office suites, photoshop and so on. These will ALL be deleted and have to be reinstalled. Only Microsoft apps and the windows built in apps will be retained.

    Be warned.

    bwallx,

What you reported is a very rare.
When working on computers "anything can happen"
Reset save files, reset remove files, clean install are methods that usually result in the loss of applications.
The in place upgrade repair should not result in the loss of applications.
The downside of an in place upgrade repair should be the resetting of customized settings to default and these are then modified after a successful in place upgrade repair.

I successfully was able to do a "in place upgrade repair" using the 1607 iso file! So thank you for that. First success in a while
It rebooted, installed, and booted with a welcome screen saying "preparing a few things for you..." etc.
For the record all my apps, programs and files are intact.

    Getting this warning, click OK.

    b) I cannot move the dot after clicking automatically manage paging file size. For my C: drive, it seems it's already checked though, but not for my B: drive (for B: it's "no paging file")

The settings are intact after a reboot :)

This is only true if you're doing a repair install outside of Windows, there are many who have performed a repair install within Windows including myself. Some might have lost a program or 2, Windows tells you about it, but every program that is compatible is not removed with the in-place repair install.

It also doesn't matter that the link is several years old, because the content of the tutorial is still very accurate. Maybe a screen or 2 might be slightly different, but the overall is very accurate considering I have recently performed an in-place upgrade on a pc of family.

Windows Update said it needed to reboot to install v1803, so I clicked the start menu and "Install updates and reboot" option.
When it had tried updating and rebooted, Windows update mentioned something about not being able to update because the pc was not on.
I have now clicked retry in windows update and turned off fast startup.

The beta log collector displayed: Version : 10.0.14393
If you can upgrade Windows to 1803 then post a new beta log collector zip after the upgrade.
If the upgrade fails it can be troubleshooted with the Panther logs.

    For virtual memory:
Highlight C: and see if you can make the earlier changes
