    Rebuild Asus E403S laptop

I have a Asus E403S laptop which just has a small SSD in it. I want to do a fresh W10 install but can't figure out what the best way is as I can't seem to boot off the a USB to install W10.
When I got into the bios I couldn't see an option to boot off USB hence why I'm stuck.

    Help pls

    TIA Bart

    Hi.

Create USB key using Media Creator and please shut off Fast Boot in BIOS.

F12 should be your boot menu key.

Thew screen will show you which key to push.

    Del, F12 etc

But you don`t need to go into the Bios, just bring up the one time boot menu, usually F8

If your usb stick doesn`t show up on the list, either it wasn`t created properly or your device can`t boot from a usb stick, as you already mentioned.

My bad I gave you Toshiba.

    Your BIOS is F2

    Manual

As soon as it powers on tap F2 multiple times, say a second apart.

You could go to command prompt

    Shutdown /r /fw

    which works on some devices.

Managed to get into bios by holding down f2 as it booted.

    Disabled fast boot

As I had a usb stick in the laptop it recognized this as an option and eventually I managed to set this as Boot Option 1...

......its now copying the files to create the w10 install finally

You can have a problem setting USB as the first boot device. When installing, after it loads the needed files on the hard drive then reboots, it expects to boot from the hard drive but if the flash drive is still in it will boot from there and you start the install process over again.

If this happens, exit the install then remove the flash drive as soon as the reboot starts and it should boot from the hard drive. Once that happens re-insert the flash drive in case it's needed later on during the install process.

Yes, there is no reason to set a usb stick as 1st boot in the Bios.

Just bring up the boot menu and choose the usb stick 1 time that`s it.
