problem encountered during windows 10 upgrade from Windows7

After downloading updates , I get the screen that says that Mobile Intel 4 Series express chipset not compatible with the computer. Windows 10 will not display correctly .

What should I do next? click confirm to continue? This display is 1600X900.

    Please advise .

The Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset is a legacy product and not supported in W8.1 or above.
Supported Operating Systems for IntelĀ® Graphics Products

If you continue the 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' driver will be loaded. This should work, but some functions such as the PC entering sleep or 'night light' may not be available as they need a device-specific driver. I have the same problem with an 'Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3600/3650' on an old netbook. The MS Basic Adapter works well and gives the correct resolution, but I don't have Sleep available. I use Hibernate instead.

If you are upgrading the existing Windows 7 to Windows 10 then you have 10 days in which you can roll back to the previous Windows, after which the previous windows files (windows.old + a few others) will be automatically deleted.

If you want to be absolutely sure you can go back to your Windows 7 at any time, then I would make a system image on an external HDD before proceeding. I would recommend using Macrium Reflect Free as it's more reliable, but windows' own built-in Backup & Restore can create a system image too. Whichever you use, make sure you make the boot media needed to perform the restore (for Backup & Restore that's a CD/DVD).

I suspect though that you will find Windows 10 acceptable even with the 'Microsoft Basic' driver.

I already created an image with Macrium before I attempted to do the upgrade to windows 10 , so I am safe. How do I rollback using windows old?

Good, so few do that we get into the habit of suggesting it at every opportunity.
