    Error attempting USB install, 0xc0000102

Hello, I do hope I can find some help here.

I am attempting to use a live install USB created with Windows Media Creation Tool to install Windows 10 on a brand new computer. We had verified that it was reading the USB ports and there were no funky issues with the new hardware by livebooting with a linux USB, so we went forward to try and install with the MCT USB files. However, I am getting the following error screen:

A required device is not connected or could not be accessed

    0xc0000102

    You'll need recovery tools, etc

Is it as simple as I have it in the wrong USB slot, or am I missing something else major? For reference, if needed, I'm using an MSI Tomahawk B450 motherboard and a AMD Ryzen 3 2200G APU

Are you using RAID mode for your storage devices? If so you'll need to provide Windows Setup with the AMD RAID drivers - X470 Drivers Support | AMD .

I don't believe I am, how ever I have swapped which USB location I was using, and am now getting a 0xc000000d error, saying that I'm missing registry information on the install USB, I have to assume.

    Specific text:

The operating system couldn't be loaded because th esystem registry file is missing or contains errors.
    File: windows/system32/config/system
    Error Code 0xc000000d

Sounds more like it is trying to look at an existing system on the hard drive in order to see if that can be upgraded to W10. What was on this brand new computer as supplied? Do you need to keep anything, or do you just want to wipe it clean and install a fresh copy of Windows?

For a clean install wipe the disk first. Choose the custom install then delete all existing partitions before installing to the unallocated space thus created. See Step 10 here...

It is a clean, brand new harddrive straight from the store. Nothing previously installed on it, unless the security tape and anti-static bag were a lie somehow.

It may have been supplied partitioned by the manufacturer though. If so a custom install will allow you to remove any existing partition.
