Enterprise is not supported for the free upgrade. Solved Frequently Asked Questions about the Windows 10 Free upgrade - Windows 10 Forums

Who qualifies for the free upgrade?
    * Only non-enterprise users with a valid Retail or OEM and Genuine x86/x64 Windows 7, or Windows 8/8.1 Starter/Home/Standard/Core/Pro/Ultimate (whatever you want to call it) license qualify for a free upgrade. This is very simple, end of story.

    * UPDATE If you have a non-enterprise version of Windows, that is joined to a Windows domain, you may also not be offered the Free Upgrade automatically. We don't yet know whether the license terms will allow business users with non-enterprise versions to legally upgrade or not, although it's hard to say how legally enforceable such a claim would be anyways. Regardless, if you want to get the free upgrade to your non-enterprise qualifying OS, then you may be forced to unjoin from the Domain, perform the upgrade, then re-join. We don't yet know if a you will get a free upgrade from ISO if you are joined to a domain.

    * If you have an Enterprise edition, you do not qualify. If you have Windows RT from an ARM Based tablet, you do not qualify. We don't yet know about more exotic versions that most people have probably never heard of. Any version of Windows 7 or 8/8.1 that is efectively a Retail or OEM will qualify (ie, non-VL MSDN or Technet licenses, etc... even if you are no longer in those programs, so long as the license is valid).

Pay for it. Or install a Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 and activate that first that is not an enterprise version.

My windows 10 is Pro N.
That N there in his original post means Enterprise - which is not a supported free upgrade.

Yep I did not know about that. My previous version of Windows 8.1 was Enteprise. :X But how can I install W10 Enterprice if the Media Creation Tool got me Pro N. I tried it upgrading it - Something Happaned Something Happaned - I had every******* thing in English (US) every fix tried. Then I tried to run in from the setup and errors occured. So, from where can I download Enterprise edition and try it ?

it register your HWID to that version windows
and sofar there no way to change windows version after that...

beside changing HWID by modding bios? so it look new hard to MS server
    or purchasing new retail key

His Hardware ID should not have been saved on MS activation servers because he never got a successful activation.

    Hi there

Quite simply you have to READ the qualifying material --if you don't qualify then (Horror of Horrors !!!) You actually have to PAY for it !!!!!.

And BTW if you download a pre-activated version of W8/W8.1 /W7 from a torrent site or use one of those "Activation things" from the torrents your W10 won't be activated either !!! You must use a LEGAL activated qualifying OS to get the upgrade. After installation you can THEN do a clean update if you want to.

    Cheers

No, the N version is one required in some European countries that required Windows to be distributed without some bundled multimedia software (like Windows Media Player). (The multimedia stuff is available as a free download.)

I'm a little surprised that 8.1 Enterprise can be upgraded to 10 Pro N. I'm not at all surprised that 10 installed that way won't activate with the free upgrade.

If memory serves, no Enterprise upgrades are offered through the Media Creation Tool. I doubt that it supports pirated copies, either.

    (edited: without some bundled...)

You're right. My mistake! :-) I thought I was wrong once - but I was mistaken. Still can't upgrade an Enterprise version for free though :-)

ahh i missed few things sorry
so yes, enterprise is different from pro and home

well it make sense anyway... enterprise isnt mean for single/end user
if a company upgrading their OS then they buy new license... then seed the new license to all pc in their company
