Extend rollback time

    Extend rollback time

I used DISM /Online /Set-OSUninstallWindow /Value:60 to extend rollback time a few days ago.
I just used DISM /Online /Get-OSUninstallWindow to see how much time I have left and it reported 60.
Does it not report the actual time left?

    Does this even work?

The real thing to do is image backup before you upgrade and then there is no time limit to reverting.

I'm afraid the command in Option One will only show you what you have it currently set to instead of how much time you have left.

You could check your update history to see when the last build was installed to get an idea of how much time you have left.

Thanks Shawn, I checked when Windows.old was created and went from there.

As always -- you will have no problems reverting back to whatever version of Windows you like whenever you like if you take image backups (plenty of free tools for that - Macrium is a very popular one here - others available too).

Added bonus is you can recover around 25 GB or more of HDD space by being able to delete the windows.old file (use disk management -->disk cleanup you won't be able to just delete with file explorer).

    Cheers
