Current status of Sony Vaio computer before upgrading to SSD. Please review and advise of any problems.

Hi there
@sportflyer
Sony VAIO is easy to change to SSD since the access to the standard PC disk is easy -- you don't need to take the whole back off the PC and the SSD just slots in to the SATA connector -- don't use the newer M2 types --classic SSD with SATA interface. No mounting either needed - there's a rubber retainer to keep the SSD tightly in place too. --easy peasy. !! -- works fine
Note though VAIO doesn't have USB 3 (USB2 fine) and probably no UEFI -- so format MBR rather than GPT.
USB-->SATA adapter is good also for loading OS before swapping the HDD's - keep the old 2.5 inch laptop disk for storing backups etc -- works fine with the adapter.
These machines have PENTIUM IV but still quite fast with W10 -- well worth updating if you have one -- they also have HDMI (1080 X 1920) as well as standard old fashioned VGA terminal at 1366 X 768 (or approx. can't quite remember exact video specs but HDMI works at 1080p. They have both VGA type connector and HDMI one.
Cheers

Might just be me but those are to prevent tracking and the skype one prevents it from downloading an unwanted upgrade. Learned that the other week on the thread for blocking miners.
Thx for the info on skype.
