It's just a thought, and you don't have to do such ... I tell all my family & friends when they're buying a laptop to have external drive available, a USB type enclosure. Something like the link below from Amazon. And I would tell them to buy an SSD drive like the link below. Now what I suggest is to remove the back cover of the laptop and remove the hard drive, replace it with an SSD drive. The laptop will run faster too, and you can install a fresh copy of windows. Afterward, use your original hard drive as an external drive, keep everything the same don't formatted or anything, keep it as the initial set up ... Once the warranty is over you pretty much can do whatever you like with that drive. But while it still under warranty the drive is always good to be used if need be, Get what I'm saying?

You can use whatever brand you like . I myself have no problems with Kingston drives

Does your laptop have a separate cover just for the hard drive/ memory or is it a one piece cover, meaning there just the one cover which cover the whole bottom laptop?

Many are not aware that if you use "Reset My PC", one of the options is to securely erase hard drive data suitable for selling PC i.e. windows has its own built in DBANesque feature. If you choose this option, it can take several hours, so it is recommended to do this overnight.

I'll take a photo for you as soon as I am done with creating my flash drive, but I do see at the bottom of the laptop having a few screws.

Thank you for your assistance cereberus. I actually just saw that the other day. I am now getting more acquainted with these options that I am probably going to scratch my old method of doing things.

How many hours do you think? 4 hours to complete?

Yeah, it just as I thought the whole back cover needs to come off. I hate nowadays these manufacturers in how they've changed that part, the older laptops you were able just to remove specific covers which either would remove the hard drive or memory stick and battery. Now they're making people believe its best that they the manufacturer do any hardware replacement. Though, it still can be done by the consumers if the one doing it knows a little about stuff like that, if not? Then it's best not to touch it. I'm sure there got to be a youtube video in showing how to dismantle your model
