Windows install files are too big for a CD. You need a DVD. Did you burn the iso to a DVD? If so, how exactly?

How did you download the iso?

While you can do that manually, is there any reason for not using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool which downloads the appropriate iso and creates a bootable medium for you?

    Otherwise:

You need to create a bootable flash drive. Easiest way is to do it on another pc using Windows.

If linux is only way, then you have to download the windows iso and use linux commands to create the bootable flash drive. Many web guides how to do this.

Please provide info on your computer in My Computers, make and model number or motherboard model number especially.
    BIOS or UEFI?

How did you create the flash drive? MBR or UEFI mode?
Definitely need more info on your computer.

That message is pretty much normal, just means the approval assures the attachment meets the requirements of a forum.

I downloaded the .iso yesterday using the latest/freshly downloaded MCT and will use it to burn the DVD. Mention of a CD means the total size of data it can hold is between 650MB and 700MB, limit of the disc. Use of a DVD disc is required as the .iso being burned to disc is just under 4.2GB, usually a bit less. An .iso file for a Linux LiveDVD I've gotten has frequently been below 2GB. The .iso isn't 'stored' directly onto the DVD, have to use a program to burn the contents of the .iso file to disc which creates an exact copy of the original disc.

Overnight I got the USB Thumb drive created, will be using it later today.
